On Monday October 3, members of the SVFD participated in an evaluation of 2 seperate breathing apparatus systems. Only 1 system will be purchased county wide to replace the aging system we use now. This evaluation is part of an ongoing county wide evaluation which will determine the best and safest breathing apparatus for fire department operations. Special thanks to MSA and Scott breathing apparatus for allowing us to evaluate thier systems, also to Lieutenant Nick Crumpler, Firefighter Jonathan Paiz, IOW Lieutenant Jeremy Gibbs and IOW Co. Chief Patrick Humphries for allowing us to assist with the evaluation.
