Portable ladders is a vital piece of equipment in the fire service which can be used to for access to fire buildings, rescue of occupants and for performing many fire ground operational tasks. Skills must be sharp and practiced often so departmental training was provided by Fire Lieutenant Jonathon Paiz, this drill covered considerations such as placement, type of ladder for height, parts of ladder, and one and two firefighter carries and raises. Several skills were learned and refreshed and good camaraderie was shared by all.
