On Monday night we held our weekly training night. The topic for this training was basic vehicle accident size up, basic vehicle stabilization and Rescue 50 familiarization for the newest members in attendance and advance vehicle stabilization for the more seasoned members.
For the newest members in attendance it was the opportunity to get hands on tools that they wouldn’t normally get during a real accident situation. All training that they get on these Mondays will prepare them for the upcoming firefighter 1 and 2 class. Lt. Singles and Koepke were the lead instructors for the basic training.
For the more seasoned members it was an opportunity to get into advanced situations and to go over different methods for vehicle stabilization, using tools that may not be used on a typical vehicle accident, getting the gears turning and getting input from everyone in attendance, and to finally get some tool time cutting on a couple of cars. Lt. Brown and Gray were the lead instructors for the advanced training with great input from all the members in attendance.
Over all it was a great training session by all members in attendance. Thank you for the great turnout!
