SVFD GENERAL MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION

The Smithfield Volunteer Fire Department is always seeking highly motivated and dedicated individuals looking to make a difference. Become a part of our team today. We offer the following levels of membership:

Member – No prior training is required as the department will provide training for you. Our Full Members are required to maintain active membership status by obtaining a certain amount Call Responses. They are also required to participate in Monthly Meetings and Training.

Junior Member – These members are the future firefighters of our department. They are at least 16 years of age, posses a valid government issued ID and must conform to all the requirements of the full member.

Support Services – These members provide support services to members for various activities but do not actively participate directly in fire ground operations. Some examples of Support Services functions are: Fire Prevention, Public Relations, Event Support, Fundraising and Assistance During and After Large Scale Incidents.
