FATAL ACCIDENT WITH 2 FLOWN

At 17:26 Station 50 and 60 where alerted to a single car accident with injuries. Rescue 50 and Chief 501 (Stallings) marked en route quickly to further information of an overturned vehicle on fire with people trapped. With tensions high, crews prepared themselves for the worst. On arrival 501 took command marking off with single vehicle overturned with massive damage to the passenger side and one trapped. Also to make things difficult there was a power pole resting on the vehicle with live power lines still hanging. Crews from Rescue 50 tried to make contact with the victim in the vehicle with no answer. Crews moved in and after further assessment the patient had succumb to their injuries. Crews moved their attention to assisting station 60 with packaging the patients that where able to self extricated. It was determined both would need helicopter transport. Engine 50 and 53 were dispatched to handle landing zone control. Nightingale and LifeEvac air ambulances where landing simultaneously to transport both patient to area trauma centers for treatment. Rescue 50 remained on scene for 2 hours to assist police.
