ACCIDENT WITH FLYOUT

Crews were alerted at 1230 of a single vehicle overturned with injuries. Rescue 50, Chief 501 (Stallings) and Medic 63 responded. Upon arrival crews found a single truck on its roof with heavy damage with the single occupant already self extricated. Crews from Rescue 50 went to work containing hazards and assisting with patient packaging. It was determined the patients condition was severe enough to need a helicopter transport. Engine 50 was dispatched to handle the landing zone at Station 60 about 5 miles away. Chief 502 (Hackney) took LZ command. Rescue 50 cleared the accident scene after 15 minutes and the patient was transported to an area trauma center via Nightingale.
