| At 1600 Station 50 was dispatched to a car fire in the Jersey Park Apartment complex. Engine 50 quickly marked en route with 4 followed by Cpt. West (510) in Car 50. While en route Lt. Brown, on scene, requested a second engine due to the immediate threat to a nearby apartment building. Engine 53 marked en route with 3. Engine 50 arrived on scene at 1606 with a single vehicle fully involved with multiple exposures. Engine 50 crew (FF Allen and FF Balius) agressively attacked the fire while Engine 50 officer (Lt. Gray) assumed command. At 1608 the fire was declared under control, and Engine 53 was returned to service. The exposed apartment buildings suffered minor cosmetic damage, and were checked for extension with a thermal imaging camera, with none found. Another vehicle suffered fire damage as well. Station 50 crews returned to service in under 30 minutes. |
