Carrollton VA: At 1417 hrs station's 10 and 50 were dispatched for a possible structure fire in a 3 story apartment complex. Truck 50 was first out with 3 as the 2nd due truck. Engine 50 followed close behind with 4 as the 2nd due engine, and Engine 53 with 3 was 3rd due.

Station 10 units arrived on scene and determined that the fire was contained to the deck area. During the structure fire, another call for station 10 was dispatched, this time for a large area of brush on fire.

Chief 10, diverted the 2nd due engine (Engine 50) to handle the brush fire, cancelled the 3rd due engine, and had the truck continue in to assist units on scene. Brush 50 was 2nd due apparatus to the brush fire, but was cancelled en-route to the scene. The crew from the truck assisted crews inside the apartment with minor overhaul, and to check for any possible extension. Once the fire was deemed out, all station 50 units on scene were released and put in service.

During the two fires, the Chuckatuck Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to handle any calls in the north end of the county until units were able to clear. No injuries were reported.
