Earlier today, station 10 & 50 received report of a fire on Ashby Way. Engine 10, Ladder 10, and Tanker 10 responded along with automatic aid units from Smithfield VFD. Once on-scene units encountered active fire in the attic and through the roof of the residence. Crews made quick work of the fire and were able to keep it from spreading to the rest of the home. Over 30 firefighters were on scene with operations concluding approximately 2 hours after the initial alarm.

American Red Cross was requested to provide assistance to the homeowners.

Responding units included: Engine 10, Ladder 10, Tanker 10, 105, 107, 120, Rehab 60, Medic 61 and ES1, ES2, EM1 & Suffolk Tanker 9.
