| Tonight was junior and probationary night at Station 50! Training is conducted once a month to prepare them for Firefighter 1 and Firefighter 2 academy to become future Firefighters. Tonight they started out with a introduction Powerpoint and had food provided by Anna’s. Isle of Wight Rescue squad came over with their medic and demonstrated proper procedures for assisting EMS on a call. New members were issued gear and practiced taking gear on and off. Members went over proper air pack procedures and then moved outside and practiced forcing doors, throwing ground ladders, pulling front bumper lines and how to repack hose on a fire truck. We are currently accepting new members for junior, probationary and certified firefighters! Juniors can start at the age as low as 16. |
