Over the weekend, firefighters from Virginia and bordering states descended upon Station 50 for the annual Smithfield VFD Hook & Can Class. During this class, firefighters received live fire training using the “Water Can”, or water fire extinguisher. Firefighters also conducted residential search procedures and forcible entry. Elements of the Hook & Can class are also apart of the curriculum for The Smithfield VFD Truck Company Weekend class.
