At 7:11pm Station 40, 50, and 70 were dispatched on a structure fire, reported lightning strike with smoke filling the house. 502 (Deputy Chief Gray) and Engine 51 (Lt. Asencio) with 6 marked responding just over one minute from dispatch. E40 arrived on scene with smoke showing and Ivor Volunteer Fire Department (Southampton County) was requested to respond for manpower and water supply. E51 arrived and split their crew to conduct interior fire attack and the primary search. The E51 search crew located two dogs and removed them from the structure. 502 arrived took command and moved all water supply operations to radio channel TAC2. Fire was marked under control at 8:09pm and all units cleared by 9:14pm. While units operated at the fire E53 and Station 50 were staffed covering the town.
