At 4:49am Station 10, Battalion 1 (Asst. Chief Kempton), and City of Suffolk Station 9 were dispatched to an Accident with Unknown Injuries at Benns Church Blvd. and Cherry Grove Rd. First arriving units found 3 vehicles, 2 entrapped with 1 unconscious. The call was upgraded and upon the arrival of Battalion 1, R50 was requested to respond. R50 (Capt. Balius) responded with 6 personnel and extricated one patient. An engine was also requested to handle a landing zone for Nightingale Air Ambulance. E51 (Lt. Drewery) responded and had LZ Command. Upon completion of extrication and Nightingale taking off, R50 and E51 were released by command.
