As Smithfield and the surrounding area continues to grow so does our calls for service. 2018 will go down as a record breaking year for the SVFD as we ran 1,027 calls for service. We ran 173 motor vehicle accidents (MVAs) and had 14 major working fires throughout the year. We also responded to several Technical Rescue and Water Emergencies. Our members are proud to be able to answer the call for service and look forward to serving the citizens of Isle of Wight County in 2019.
