Monday March 20, 2017 SVFD held a drill on air management with SCBA's. The drill focused on how long to make an SCBA last before the low air alarm goes off and also how long a FF can make a cylinder last from quarter tank capacity to no air. The idea was to show how long each FF can make an air supply last under working conditions and under low air/MayDay situation. SCBA capacities in the SVFD are rated at 30 mins, some members were able to make a cylinder last up to 34 mins with quarter tank capacity. Captains Jason Koepke, Greg Sellers and Jeff Smith led the drill, which was successful and an eye opening experience for some.
