Small Fire in Vacant on Jamestown Ave

An alarm of fire was sounded for a vacant structure on Jamestown Ave. at 1825 hrs on Saturday Feb. 11, 2017. Engines 51,52,50 and Rescue 50 responded under the command of Fire Chief Jason Stallings. Chief Stallings (501) arrived to find fire showing in the front of building, crew quickly went to work and extinguished/overhauled the fire, performed searches which were negative and ventilated the structure. Due to its suspicious nature, the Smithfield PD was notified. No injuries were reported and crews were in service within 90 minutes
