At 1605 hrs on October 11 the bells sounded for a working garage fire in Rushmere, Station 50 second due area. Heavy smoke was visible while responding and Rushmere confirmed a fully involved garage upon their arrival. 502 (Hackney) assisted with command as Engine 50 and Engine 51 assisted with fire extinguishment and overhaul operations. Once the fire was placed under control, command released Smithfield and all units were placed back in service.
