This afternoon Station 10 and 50 were notified of possible structure fire on Smith Neck Rd in Station 10's first due. Initial comments had a house with flames showing and a possible resident inside. Engine 51 and Truck 50 both marked en route along with Quint 10 and Engine 10. Quint 10 and Engine 51 arrived at the same time and marked off with heavy smoke and flames showing from the rear of the structure. Engine 51 assume fire attack and stretched a single hand line to the front door and made entry. Crews faced high heat and low visibility while making the push to the rear of the structure. Engine 51 was able to make a quick knock on the fire. Truck 50 entered the structure and completed ventilation and a primary search, with nothing found, as well as checked for extension. In all, Station 50 operated for 2 hours prior to clearing. A state investigator was called to determine the cause of the fire.
