At 1832 Station 50 and 60 were dispatched to an accident with injuries with additional notes of an overturned tractor trailer with possible entrapment. Rescue 50, with 6, and Chief 501 (Stallings) marked en route quickly. Prior to arrival Chief 501 requested that Nightingale Air Ambulance be placed on standby. Upon arrival Rescue 50 found a single overturned tractor trailer with heavy damage and multiple power poles down with energized power lines hanging low over the vehicle. Upon further investigation one patient was found to be entrapment in the cab of the vehicle. Crews from Rescue 50 began removing the front window to gain access to the patient. After a quick assessment by Station 60 members the patient was removed through the window. Due to the severity of the accident the patient was flown to a local trauma center. Rescue 50 handled all hazard and cleared. Rescue 50 was later requested by Chip's Recovery to provide lighting and manpower at 2100 and remained on scene until 3am before returning to service.
