"Monday Night Drill" for May consisted of vehicle extrication and stabilization. Training was coordinated by Assistant Chief Britt and Firefighter Sellers with assistance by Lt. Saunders and Firefighter Walsh. The students split up into 3 crews. First they stabilized a vehicle that was upright and used the hydraulic tools to remove the doors and roof and then performed a dash roll. This was accomplished by several techniques that were tried as the training progressed. Then the crews and instructors moved to a second vehicle that was on it's side. The instructors went over some techniques having the students practice their hands-on skills by using the Rescue-42 struts and the Para-tech struts. In all it was a very successful training night. Thanks to Ryan Brown for letting us use Daves Towing facility for the second night and to Lt. Jason Koepke's wife Tiffany for preparing dinner for all who attended.
