Vehicle Extrication in the First Due

On Wednesday Sept. 7 at 1449 hrs, units from Station 50 and Isle of Wight Rescue Squad (Station 60) responded to a reported MVA with possible entrapment. Upon arrival, units found one pt. trapped in an SUV on its side; crews quickly went to work stabilizing the vehicle with struts and performing a partial roof removal to extricate the pt. The Pt. was turned over to EMS and transported to Station 60 medevac landing site where they were flown by Life Evac to a local hospital.
