Denny West
Named 2006 Firefighter of the Year
January
27th 2007 -
The SVFD held its 2007 Banquet at
the Smithfield Center. President William Britt gave the state of the department
address and stated that the organization had achieved numerous goals and aspires
to achieve even larger goals in the 2007 year. Some of these goals included
lowering response times (lowered from 7 - 10 minutes down to 5 minutes anywhere
in our 100 square mile district) and increased station staffing by volunteers.
The state of the department is indeed, strong. We are also pleased to announce
that Denny West has been named the "2006 Firefighter of the Year".
Congratulations Denny!
